While the first Transitional Phase album was essentially SubArachnoid Space with pal Geoff Walker, this one is a collection of SubArachnoid Space oddities. Which makes the idea of them being transitional phases even more appropriate, perhaps. Think of it as SubArachnoid Space channeling a different sort of vibe, in various situations.

These pieces were recorded between 1999 and 2001. Some were live, some were "in-studio live" and some were more formally recorded.

"Live at Spaceland" is a live recording from a set in Los Angeles, opening for Nik Turner's Hawkwind. It got weirdly space-rocky partly due to borrowed amps that just plain sounded different.

"Spaceship Waterbed" was a trippy jam recorded in our practice space.

"Sounds and Memories Remain" was also recorded in our practice space, and then when our friend Doug Ferguson (from Yeti, RIP) stopped by we had him add some kick-ass synth.

The "Live Apr 21, 1999" pieces were somewhere in SF, probably, with live sound by JK47 (evident due to the cool drum echoes). The "Live Feb 4, 1999" were...somewhere. Can't find any notes about these, so who knows.

"Candy" is a mix of a song done at Hyde Street Studios during off-hours by Eric Dyba. It was recorded on 24-track to analog 2" tape. The multi-track masters went missing later so "official" mixes were never made but this one's really nice anyway.
